Kissoon's claiming $208.7M fire insurance

A.H. & L. Kissoon's Limited yesterday filed claims totalling $208,791,595 against four insurance companies, following the fire which destroyed Park Hotel in Main Street, Georgetown.

Colonial Life Insurance Company (CLICO), Hand-In-Hand, North American Fire & General Insurance Company and Guyana Co-operative Insurance Services Inc (GCIS) are the named defendants.

The sum of $56,943,162 is being claimed, separately, from CLICO, Hand-in-Hand and North American while $37,962,109 is the claim against GCIS, all for loss and damage suffered by the plaintiffs under a collective policy of fire and perils insurance in relation to the building at Lots 37-38 Main Street.
