AIDS hotline hours to be extended
Facilitators at the National AIDS hotline will now be available on a twelve-hour schedule Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm beginning on July 24. According to a press release from the National AIDS Programme Secretariat, the extension from the previous 8:00 am to 4:00 pm shift is intended to cater for callers after working hours. Facilitators will be standing by to provide accurate information and referrals on telephone numbers 02-37138 and 02-37139. The secretariat is mandated to coordinate the national response to the HIV/AIDS epidemic and has resuscitated the AIDS hotline to address concerns of the public about the disease in an anonymous manner, the release stated.
