Four Guyanese based in the United States of America recently joined to form a boxing organisation to assist both amateur and professional fighters.

Seon Bristol, Lennox Blackmore, Colin Morgan and Kenny Bristol all former boxers, recently formed the Guyana North America Boxing Association.

Seon Bristol, nephew of Kenny, said that one objective of the association is to build a "better boxing relationship for Guyanese around the world."

The association will also focus on the grooming of amateur fighters for the professional category and provide aid to professional boxers in need.

The association will also offer advice to fighters. The younger Bristol said that the GNABA is self sponsored at present but will be seeking sponsorship soon. The headquarters will remain in New York where it was launched.

Kenny Bristol and Blackmore are former Commonwealth champions. Morgan is the trainer of World Boxing Council cruiserweight champion Wayne `Big Truck' Braithwaite while Seon Bristol is Braithwaite's Public Relations Consultant. (Steve Ninvalle)
