Entries close today for the Kennard's Memorial Turf Club's two-day horse race meet slated for December 26 and 28 at the club's race track, Bush Lot Farm, Corentyne.

The club has secured sponsorship for a number of races with Demerara Distillers Ltd (DDL) sponsoring the two `C' class feature races over a mile with a first prize of $130,000 and the El Dorado Trophy. A keen contest is expected among Satranie, Show Time, My Arrival and other top horses.

The National Bank of Industry and Commerce sponsors the `F' class race on day one and the `H' class on day two.

Some of the other sponsors include Metro, the Guyana Telephone and Telegraph Company, P&P Insurance Brokers, Delmur Co Ltd and Jumbo Jet Auto Sales.

The champion jockey will receive the Neville Sunich memorial trophy, while the runner up will get a trophy donated by Engraving and Trophy World on Quamina Street.

The champion trainer will also receive a trophy, donated by R. Bactowar and Son Excavation and Civil Works of Mon Repos, East Coast Demerara.

Entertainment will be provided on both days by popular bands. Horses can be entered with Inshanally Habibulah of the Rising Sun Turf Club, West Coast Berbice (telephone 624-9213), Michael Simms (220-5963) or Cecil Kennard (226-1399 or 225-4818).
