A team of visiting paediatric neurosurgeons and anaesthesiologists from the International Children Hospital (ICH) performed nine surgeries at the Georgetown Public Hospital last week.

Operations were done to remove tumours and water from the brain during the three-day visit, according to the Government Information Agency (GINA).

At a media briefing last Saturday, Dr John Ward said he is satisfied with the team's performance. He added that the patients are on the road to recovery.

Meanwhile, several children have been identified to travel to the ICH in Richmond, Virginia, through a collaborative partnership with the Georgetown Hospital.

The visiting team included surgeons Econ Doppenburg and Gary Tye and anaesthesiologists Jay Shapiro and Ruth Becker Kain.
