The People's Movement for Justice (PMJ) will today be holding a second Rule of Law march, which is to leave Parliament Buildings at 3.30 pm and end in a rally at the Square of the Revolution.

This march, dubbed the Second Wave, is the second in a series of marches the PMJ is organising. The first was held on March 20.

The PMJ in a release said that persons attending the march are required to assemble at Parliament Buildings at 3 pm. The PMJ is asking participants to protest the absence of good governance, condemn state terrorism and racially motivated violence and all other forms of violence. It also asks that they support the upholding of workers' rights and human rights in Guyana.

Organiser Desmond Trotman said that the police have already granted permission for the march and rally. The PNCR says it would be participating since it has no hesitation in joining forces again with other social and political organisations to protest against the collapse of the rule of law.

At its weekly press conference yesterday, the PNCR said that the holding of this march one month after the first one "abundantly demonstrates the determination of the Guyanese people to take their country back from the brink of disaster."
