Magistrate Geeta Chandan granted bail on Wednesday to popular boxer Howard Eastman when he appeared at the Reliance Magistrate's Court to answer two counts of domestic assault.

Eastman, known as the Battersea Bomber, on October 13 and 22 allegedly assaulted his wife Nicole Eastman at Canefield, Canje. Eastman, who was unrepresented, pleaded not guilty to the charges and requested an early trial date as he has a scheduled overseas fight in December. The magistrate adjourned the case to November 15 and wished him well with his fight. She said she did not want to "hinder his chances of bringing pride and glory to our country."
