Post office has CWC stamps, local post cards for sale

The Guyana Post Office Corporation has released for sale three denominations of stamps and postcards depicting local landmarks to celebrate Cricket World Cup in Guyana.

According to a press release the stamps are in $500, $200 and $100 denominations. The $500-stamp is on a souvenir sheet which depicts the flags of the English-speaking Caribbean countries along with Guyana. The $200-stamp depicts the victorious Guyana team that participated in the Stanford Twenty/20 Competition and the $100-stamp depicts the map and flag of Guyana. The stamps may be purchased at the Philatelic Office on the ground floor of the General Post Office.

The post office also said it has for sale seven "different beautiful and picturesque post-cards". The postcards depict scenes at Kaieteur Falls, St George's Cathedral, the Stabroek Market, the Light House, the Iwokrama Canopy walkway and the winning shot played by Narsingh Deonarine at the Twenty/20 match. The post office said the cards are on sale at the main post office as well as those at Bourda, Kitty, East La Penitence, New Amsterdam, Skeldon, McKenzie and at Anna Regina.
