Dear Editor,

One wonders why Mr Trevor Rupnarain lost the election [ please note: link provided by LOSP web site ]. To me it is no surprise; remember, it is not the PPP/Civic and PNC fighting to be elected. Indo-Guyanese do not recognise themselves as part of the political process of the USA. If you ask an Indo-Guyanese to give the name of the attorney general of the USA you will get a reply of "I do not know." However, if you ask the name of the PS of the Ministry of Works in Guyana, he or she will rattle the name off. Further if you ask for contributions for elections in Guyana they will send thousands of dollars. All Trevor asked was for them to cast their votes for him so that he might represent them, but they turned their backs on him. I strongly believe this will come back to haunt them.
