IN A battle of junior-welterweight contenders at the legendary Blue Horizon in Philadelphia, Vivian Harris 18-1-1 (15 KOs) scored an impressive third round knockout over former title challenger Golden Johnson, Friday night.

Harris was very sharp in dismantling Johnson over the first two rounds. Then in round three, a left hook, which appeared to thumb Johnson in the right eye, caused Johnson to step back and take a knee for the count. Official time 2:12 of round three.

By exclusively using his left hand in the form of a jab, uppercut, and vicious left hook, Vivian Harris stopped Golden Johnson in the third round of the scheduled 10-round junior-welterweight crossroads battle.

Harris won the first round with sharp left jabs and hooks.

Johnson was able to counter with several rights, but they were single shots that did not hurt Harris.

The second round was close, with Harris getting the edge with hard hooks to Johnson's body.

What was shaping up to be an interesting boxing match ended suddenly when Harris connected with a left hook to the head of Johnson, near his eye.

Johnson, now 20-5-2, 14 KO's, went to a knee and was unable to continue, giving Harris a big win. (Ringnews.com)
