GA2000 to host pre-flight reception
GUYANA's first privately owned and operated National Flag Carrier, Guyana Airways 2000 (GA2000), will host a reception on the occasion of its inaugural flight on Friday. The event will be held from 10:00hrs at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport, Timehri. The airline begins its operations that same day with a flight leaving Guyana at midday and arriving in New York at 17:30hrs. An official welcoming reception will also be held in New York when the flight arrives, according to a release from Public Communication Consultants Limited (PCCL). It added that President Janet Jagan, Prime Minister Sam Hinds, civic leaders and representatives of the media have been invited as special guests of GA2000 on the flight. Meanwhile, Miss Guyana 1999, Morvinia Sobers, is now a flight attendant with GA2000. Sobers and seven other cabin attendants were featured yesterday in a full-page advertisement of the airline in both dailies. (WENDELLA DAVIDSON)
