Two flight attendants from Guyana Airways 2000 were yesterday questioned by ranks of the Customs Anti Narcotics Unit (CANU) and had their finger and palm prints taken in connection with the discovery of approximately two kilogrammes of suspected cocaine on the plane on Tuesday.

CANU officers along with GA 2000 personnel found the suspected cocaine in the galley of the aircraft during a pre-flight security check.

Two members of the company's cleaning and catering staff were among other employees who were also questioned by CANU. A source told Stabroek News that the employees have been questioned and sent away.

The source told this newspaper that two flight attendants were questioned and fingerprinted by CANU officers yesterday and not on Tuesday as was reported by this newspaper.

Investigations into the find are continuing.

The discovery had delayed the departure of the aircraft for two and a half hours.

The packages with the suspected cocaine were found in the galley of the aircraft where the food is stored, Stabroek News understands, and fingerprints were lifted from the packages.
