Heavy rain floods parts of city

Sudden and continuous showers yesterday afternoon left several parts of the city under water.
The rains which started at around 1200 hrs, saw pavements and roadways of several city streets inundated and water even flooding some Regent Street stores.
In King Street, from Charlotte to Regent Street, water, as high as three inches on the roadway, could be seen seeping into the businesses lining the streets.
In West Ruimveldt, the downpour had been just as relentless; with several cross streets flooded with the few hours of rain.
Several areas around Georgetown including Kitty, Prashad Nagar and Queenstown were reportedly also under water.
