Prime Minister Samuel Hinds says his government is not averse to joining the lobbying efforts by Beal Aerospace Technologies to secure approval for the launching of rockets from Guyana.
However, he indicated that a decision will be made after the US general elections scheduled for November.
He said it was anticipated that Beal would mount an aggressive lobby after the elections to secure support for the transfer of satellite technology and equipment to Guyana.
Beal's Vice-President, David Spoede, indicated earlier this week that the firm would be very happy to have the government on board aiding its lobby mission in the US.
Key to establishing a spaceport in Guyana is securing the US State Department's approval to launch satellites from Guyana with security expected to be the crucial issue.
On the Guyana side, the environmental impact assessment study results will be crucial after that.
It is expected that if all goes well, in another eighteen months, construction of the satellite spaceport will commence in the Waini.
