The cadastral survey to mark off the 26,010 acres of land sold to Beal Aerospace Technologies as well as the 76,000-acre concession to which it will have user access has been completed.
Kit Nascimento, public relations consultant to Beal Aerospace said the survey was completed some two weeks ago and the findings are expected to be released to the media shortly.
The survey also covered the number of families which will have to be relocated once Beal occupies its concession in Guyana to build a satellite spaceport.
Beal is awaiting the green light from the US State Department to be able to transfer satellite technology to Guyana before it moves forward on the project here. It is lobbying for such approval currently and it is expected that once the US Presidential elections are over in November, this effort will be intensified and a formal application for the green light sent in.
Beal proposes to invest US$100M to build a spaceport in Guyana. Currently, the company has slashed its staff in the US by half as it seeks to rationalise its operations.
Nascimento who was the government's public relations consultant on the project, has now been retained by Beal as their consultant. His contract with Beal became effective from the start of this month. His contract with the government was for three months.
