Now in week 46, Mothers in Black will continue its protest this Friday from 11.30 am to 12.30 pm and is widening its focus.
According to a release issued yesterday, the group will be joined "by other women and supportive men to protest the murder of Lois Hohenkirk" and "by the relatives and friends of Kaloutie Kumar to protest the freeing of (than convicted of her death) on May 7 (having served less that one year in prison)."
These protests are in addition to the ongoing protest "against the slaughter of our children and other loved ones on the roads, and the failure of Parliament to enact laws which reflect a valuing of human life."
The group also expressed concern over the recent upsurge in violence and called for a "collective stand against the further degeneration of our country."(
