Wayne `Big Truck' Braithwaite continued his rampage through the World Boxing Council's (WBC) cruiserweight division with a second round stoppage of Matthew Charlestown at the Zembo Temple in Harrisburg Philadelphia, United States on Thursday night.

The hard-hitting Braithwaite, rated fourth by the WBC, dropped his American opponent in both rounds before the referee called a halt to the carnage.

The Guyanese who is bidding to become the second boxer from this country to win a world title, totally dominated his opponent who was a substitute for Luis Pineda on the main supporting bout of a heavyweight card.

Braithwaite's record has improved to 15 victories from as many bouts with 12 knockouts. He is now in line for a shot at Juan Carlos Gomez's title.

His manager Boxu Potts has indicated that the Plaisance fighter should get his chance to fight for the world title before the end of this year.

Thursday night's bout was the first this year for the 24-year-old Braithwaite, who is attempting to follow the path of World Boxing Association (WBA) welterweight champion Andrew `Sixhead' Lewis who captured Guyana's first world belt in February.
