Guybernet, a global information and training centre, was launched by the Eccles/Moblissa Youth Leaders Council on Thursday and is intended to be a hub of youth-related activities for young people who reside in and out of the city.
A press release from the organisation said GUYBERNET's business section would provide desk top publishing, photocopying, Internet and e-mail services. Its computer training section would provide a wide range of computer courses tailored to meet the needs of individuals, non-governmental organisations (NGO), businesses and government agencies.
The centre, which is located at 95 Hadfield Street, Werk-en-Rust, has been co-funded by the European Union and the Peace Child International, a UK-based charitable organisation.
The staff of the centre includes three interns from the UK and a Guyanese group comprising university graduates.
GUYBERNET is a non-profit organisation which offers services at reduced prices to all legitimate NGOs, youth groups, schools and students.
