President Janet Jagan was yesterday discharged from hospital and is at home resting but her health will receive a further evaluation some time in the future.
A Guyana Information Services release said the President was discharged from the St Joseph's Mercy Hospital yesterday and that the original symptoms she suffered from had disappeared.
She took ill last Wednesday night with chest pains and was diagnosed with suspected angina, a heart condition. This problem resolved itself but her sugar level was a bit high and she was kept in the hospital for a further 24-hour observation.
Up to press time last night, the PPP Central Committee was still locked in a meeting at which the future leadership of the party and the government reportedly may have been on the agenda.
