The Guyana Police Force is appealing to members of the public to use restraint when effecting citizens arrests.
A release from the Office of the Public Relations Officer, Senior Superintendent Ivelaw Whittaker, yesterday said that while members of the public have been giving valuable assistance to the police in arresting wanted persons and those caught committing criminal acts, "their exuberance has resulted in the arrested persons sometimes receiving bodily injuries."
However, the police have extended sincere thanks to members of the public for their spirited efforts in arresting such persons.
