President Bharrat Jagan was last night expected to move into Herdmanston House as his new but temporary living quarters.
State House is currently under repair and it is not certain if the President has plans to eventually move in there.
Cabinet Secretary, Dr Roger Luncheon, said that nothing conclusive has been arrived at regarding the new President's living arrangements but as of now he would be enjoying the facilities of the Guyana Sugar Corporation (GUYSUCO) in Lamaha Street.
Jagdeo has been living in Echilibar Villas.
Herdmanston House, which originally belonged to Booker Tate and was used to house visiting dignitaries, was inherited by GUYSUCO on the nationalisation of the sugar industry.
It had continued to be used as a guest house for dignitaries and to host important functions. The Herdmanston Accord of January 1998 between the ruling PPP and the opposition PNC was signed there.
