A corporate sponsorship agreement was signed by Ansa McAl and the Tourism and Hospitality Association of Guyana (THAG) recently to make Carib the official beer of tourism in Guyana.
A press release stated that the agreement was the result of a proposal made to Ansa McAl by THAG, which offered endorsement of Carib beer by the association and its members as well as local and overseas marketing support, in return for a donation to support the efforts of the association totalling US$5,000.
The release said that Carib beer has joined BWIA, Guyana Telephone and Telegraph company (GT&T) and El Dorado Rum as local and locally-based organisations supporting the efforts of the association through corporate sponsorship.
THAG offers support to its members in the areas of lobbying and advocacy, local and international public relations and marketing, training and product development to name a few. The release continued that in the past its only sources of income have been membership dues and fund-raising activities, but these have proven insufficient to allow the association to effectively meet its objectives.
The idea of partnerships with companies which began over two years ago has been enthusiastically embraced, and has had an immeasurable impact on the association, the release said.
