Why should the five escapees give themselves up?

Dear Editor,
I was somewhat amused by the statement from the Commissioner of Police (ag) directed to the five escapees, whereby he implored them to give themselves up. Really Mr Editor, does he think these five are ignoramuses? In giving themselves up they would be giving up the ghost, even if they were accompanied by a lawyer or lawyers.
Coming to the ten million dollars reward, no sane Guyanese would give any information to the police, as to do this would risk someone in the police informing the same five escapees, and the informant's life would be not worth a Guyana dollar.
The escapees are well aware of the above - remember the 'Blackie' fiasco?
