Young women, others helping escapees
The Police are warning persons not to provide cover and other forms of support to the escapees for it will be to their detriment and that of their fellow citizens.
In a press release, Police said the discovery of 589 rounds of AK-47 ammunition in a plastic pail at the scene of the shootout with the bandits in Prashad Nagar, Georgetown on Saturday night was an indication of the level of support being given to the gang.
The release reiterated that the incidents of criminal activity over the last weekend and from intelligence gathered prior, have indicated that escapees are being provided with logistical and other support to aid them in conducting criminal activities.
"We are seeking the support of the public, which is critical in our quest to recapture these dangerous criminals", the Police said.
