Marks is among seven sparring partners identified by manager Nelson Fernandez who will start arriving at the Fernwood Resort in the Pocono Mountain, Pennsylvania from this Friday.
Lewis also known as `The Albouystown Cyclone', went into camp yesterday to step up preparation for his mandatory defence against Ricardo Mayorga scheduled for March 30. A venue for the fight, Lewis' third defence, has not been named.
Marks gave Guyana's first world title holder a rude awakening in his first defence of the title in April. In a first round the champion would long remember, Marks all but dropped the Guyanese who rallied to win by a unanimous decision.
In addition to Marks, Lewis will spar with undefeated welterweight Kermit Cintron, Rogelio Martinez, Adrian Stone and Freddie Cadena. Colombians Alex Carillo and Sierra have styles similar to Mayorga Fernandez claimed and would be brought in two weeks later.
Lewis, undefeated in 22 fights (19 knockouts) sustained gashes over both eyes in round two of the first fight against Mayorga in July last year. The fight was declared a technical draw paving the way for this year's return bout.
Next month's fight is to be shown live on Showtime and will be preceded by a battle for the vacant IBF welterweight title between Corey Spinks (29-1) and Italian Michele Piccirillo (36-1).
The 31-year-old Lewis and company stepped back into the Fernwood Resort in Pennsylvania, where the champion worked out prior to stopping James Page to win the title last February.
Meanwhile, Fernandez expressed his disappointment with the fight between former WBC champion `Sugar' Shane Mosley and Vernon Forrest. "We were a little disappointed with the Mosley versus Forrest fight cause we wanted `Six' to be the first guy to destroy Mosley. As you know I had always said that Mosley is/was an ordinary fighter and that if you made him fight going back, his lack of defence could have and would have been the achilles tendon everyone was over looking. But Forrest exposed all of the above," Fernandez said.
