A visit by a five- member delegation from China headed by Senior Colonel Junping and a reciprocal visit last December by Brigader Michael Atherly, the first COS of the GDF to have visited China, paved the way for the acquisition of military logistics supplies worth over three million yen.
Further, a 2001 agreement worth some four million yen for the supply of additional equipment and the recent acquisition of the Y-12 aircraft from China have enhanced the operational capability of the GDF.
