Shock and multiple gunshot injuries were attributed as the cause of death of Linden London at the Coroner's Inquest into the deaths of London and Rhonda Forde yesterday.
Police Corporal Troy Whitaker, testifying before a five-member jury and Senior Magistrate Melissa Robertson, acting as the coroner, tendered the post mortem examination report, which listed the cause of death as shock and multiple gunshot wounds.
London aka 'Blackie', who was wanted for a series of robberies including the September 1999 America Street and January 2000 NIS robberies was fatally shot on February 9, 2000, after an 11-hour confrontation with members of the joint services at the Toucan Suites Guest House, Eccles East Bank Demerara.
The examination, which was performed by Government pathologist, Nancy Sitchoo, revealed that among other injuries sustained by London, there were fractured ribs with separation, multiple entrance and exit wounds, loss of skin muscle, ruptures to and hemorrhaging of the lungs, and several perforations of the liver.
London's body was identified by his brother Lincoln London at Le Repentir Mortuary on Sunday February 13, 2000, when the post mortem was conducted.
