Student accused of beating teacher granted $25,000 bail

The student who has been accused of beating a teacher of North Georgetown Secondary School was yesterday granted $25,000 bail when he pleaded not guilty to a charge of assault causing actual bodily harm before acting Chief Magistrate Juliet Holder-Allen.
The sixteen-year-old, an ex-student of the school, allegedly attacked Kerry Baynes last Thursday on Vlissengen Road dealing him several blows to the body, following the conclusion of the school's Christmas party.
The matter continues on Thursday at Court Two.
