Probe into Albouystown killings continue

The shooting incident which took place last Monday night in James Street, Albouystown has resulted in the death of three persons, while five others are critically wounded.

According to the Public Relations officer of the Guyana Police Force, Assistant Superintendent David Ramnarine, the persons who died as a result of the attack are Anil Baijnauth, 29, Eustace Bobb, 59, and Richard Bobb also called “Blacks”, 24, all residents of Albouystown.

The five wounded persons are presently hospitalised and are reportedly in a stable condition.

Mr. Ramnarine also disclosed that the occupants of two cars that drove up by a shop in which were a group of persons, and discharged a hail of bullets at the group then fled the scene.

The police shortly after the attack discovered an abandoned vehicle, which is in its custody and an investigation is ongoing to determine whether the vehicle was used during the attack.

The police also said that four warheads, one spent 7.62 shell and one 7.62 snap round were found on the scene of the crime.

The police are continuing their investigations.
