The three bandits were killed as they sought to escape from the scene.
Sources told the Chronicle, the teenagers were released but have to report to the Criminal Investigations Department (CIDS), as investigations are still on-going.
The girls claimed they were taken to the house by a female friend, on the pretext that she (their friend) was going to visit a brother who had returned from overseas.
They said the friend left, saying she was going to purchase food and not long after they heard gunshots coming from outside.
The girls, aged 17 years and 19 years, have given their addresses as Golden Grove, East Coast Demerara, and Norton Street, Lodge.
Meanwhile, as the investigations continue, the Police by way of scientific examinations have so far linked Shawn Brown to 20 crime scenes, including the murders of Superintendent Leon Fraser and Constable Rawle Thomas.
Supt. Fraser was gunned down at Yarrowkabra, Soesdyke/Linden Highway, in April of last year, and Thomas in June in Linden, where he was stationed.
Police said Brown’s fingerprints were also traced to 13 robberies under arms, two kidnappings and three instances where loaded firearms were discharged.
A bunch of keys for the Prashad Nagar building was found in Browne’s pants pocket.
The fingerprints of Singh were found on a toilet bowl in the said house.
A release from police headquarters said, too, that ballistic examinations have confirmed that the 9mm Beretta sub-machine ‘pistol’ which was found at the house was used at five scenes of murder and shootings, including Nathoo’s Liquor Restaurant Newtown, Kitty; the Prison Officers’ Club, Camp Street; the Brazilian Restaurant, Charlotte Street; in Albouystown when Selwyn Pollydore and Shawn Forde were fatally shot; and at the Ketley Street Liquor Restaurant.
