PATRONS flocked Bank DIH Sports Club, Thirst Park, Saturday evening for a Paul Keens-Douglas show that turned out to be an enjoyable treat.
Well, may a little more than an enjoyable treat. Some who were seeing him for the first time, long after the show was over, were still trying to fathom “what manner of man is he?” as he continued his rib-tickling ways which began Friday night with a premiere performance of his 30th anniversary show at Le Meridien Pegasus Hotel.
Said one patron, “this man’s really got a special talent; he’s got a way with everything, be it that the joke is serious or not.”
Among those in the audience who were in for quite a treat from the self-styled regional storyteller were Prime Minister Sam Hinds and his wife, Yvonne.
And, as if Paul Keens-Douglas was not enough, some of our local actors got into their own, helping to bring the house down.
Douglas was brought here by Gems Theatre Productions (GTP), in collaboration with the Guyana Rugby Football Union (GRFU), Le Meridien Pegasus and regional carrier British West Indies Airways (BWIA).
