Guyana's junior lightweight boxer Gary St. Clair is now rated number 15 by the International Boxing Federation and may be in line for a world title-crack soon.
St. Clair now campaigns in Australia and was scheduled to have his 30th professional fight last night on the under-card of the Kostya Tszyu/Jesse James Leija card.
The Guyanese, who worked as sparring partner for Tszyu leading up to tonight's contest, has only lost three times, one being to former champion Dieago Corrales on December 18 1998, and another to compatriot `Vicious' Vivian Harris on December 10 1999.
The IBF junior lightweight title is vacant while Acelino Freitas holds the World Boxing Association crown. The World Boxing Council title is held by S. Singmanassuk.
