The University of Guyana (UG) will this year celebrate 40 years of providing tertiary scholarship.
Under the theme “A Time to Reconnect,” 2003 has been designated the year of celebration of this significant Guyanese achievement.
According to a UG press release, thirteen of Guyana’s top educators, entrepreneurs and public servants have recently banded together to form the UG 40th Anniversary Committee. They will plan and execute a number of commemorative activities.
Celebrations officially kick off at the Grand Campus Open Day on February 21.
The committee comprises: Donald Sinclair, Hydar Ally, Deryck Bernard, Robert Bourne, J Cartey Caesar, Al Creighton, Vic Insanally, Carmen Jarvis, Roxanne Myers, Paulette Paul, Stacey Peters, Christopher Ram and Lloyd Roopchand.
