Police patrol comes under fire in Buxton

A police mobile patrol came under fire yesterday morning when two gunmen engaged police somewhere in the vicinity of Company Road, Buxton, East Coast Demerara.
According to a press statement from the Police Public Relations Office, yesterday’s attack occurred at 6:30 am when the two gunmen opened fire on the patrol, which was en route to Georgetown. The statement said the men fled when police returned fire.
No policeman was injured however the left side of the vehicle and the front and rear doors were damaged, the statement added.
