The People's Syndicate Promotions boxing group in association with Cecil Alfred, Piggy Griffith and Banks DIH Ltd. will stage a `Down Memory Lane' boxing extravaganza on Easter Satur-day at the Cliff Ander-son Sports Hall.
The card will feature a number of the stars of `yesteryear', men who were household names back then like Alfred himself, popularly known as `Koker Dog.'
Then there is Keith Bazilio, himself the head of People's Syndicate Promo-tions Group and a former top amatuer boxer in his heyday.
Also thrown into the mix are Guyana's only Olympic boxing medal winner Michael Parris, Fitzroy Davidson, Dennis Dalrymple, O'Neal `Rancher' Aldridge, Ivor `Baba' Simmons and the popular Barrington Cambridge.
If the names of those boxers do not immediately whet the appetite and instil a craving which can only be satiated when Easter Satur-day itself comes, then possilbly the other names on the card, names like Orin `Apple' Moore, Marcelle Daniels, Robin `Indian Bully' Lall, Linden `Buck-man' Mortley and Winston Goodgrige will do the trick.
All bouts on the card will be four-round affairs and the match-up of the boxers is the most interesting feature of the card.
There will be Calvin John against Leon `King Kong' O' Neil, Davidson against lall, Parris versus Goodridge, Dalrymple against Mortley, Lesley `Bill Blacks' Ford against Daniels, Aldridge against Alfred, Bazilio against Simmons and Cambridge against Moore.
According to referee Eion Jardine, proceeds from the card will go towards feeding the children of Albouystown.
All the boxers are requested to contact Alfred, at his `Cozy Corner' James Street, Albouystown, to finalise the programme.
