The Guyana Telephone and Telegraph Company’s cellular service CELLINK not only has a new logo, but a new face endorsing it. Ramnaresh Sarwan is the new face of GT&T’s CELLINK.
According to a release from Guyenterprise, the company, which declares its service to be “world-class and dependable”, chose the talented Guyanese and West Indian batsman because he embodied those same qualities, signing a contract with him just before his departure for the World Cup in South Africa. The intensive advertising campaign in which Sarwan asserts “Spread the word.... I use only Cellink”, is set to begin on the eve of the opening ceremony of the World Cup. The campaign is geared for persons between the ages 18 and 30.
The release stated that the telephone company recently turned on its 19th Cell Site at Skeldon, with the capacity to serve another 2000 customers. An intensive and advertising campaign has been started in the Corriverton area with special offers on cell phones as well as pin-up posters of Sarwan being available at Courts, Laparkan and Evil Eye.
