Nine days after they were found shot to death at the hands of their father in Atlanta, Georgia, Padraic Ian, 10, Damani Allistaire, 5, and three-year-old Deion Lindsey Willabus were yesterday laid to rest.
The bodies of the children were flown to Guyana on Wednesday and interred at Mahaicony after a ceremony at Sandy’s Funeral Home in Chapel Street, Georgetown.
The children’s father, former Guyanese journalist Ian Willabus, also shot and killed his second wife, Dianne, before taking his own life.
The family was found two Tuesdays ago in their home at the Kenridge Apartments in central DeKalb County in Atlanta, Georgia. Investigators believe that they had been dead for at least two days.
Autopsies later confirmed that Willabus, who was a freelance writer for CNN International, carried out the shootings.
