Former national midfielder Troy `Bugsy’ Prescod of Camptown Football Club and Troy Kellman of Pele Football Club were banned by the disciplinary committee of the Guyana Football, Federation for bringing the Mayor’s Cup final into disrepute.

The Mayor’s Cup final was held at the GFC ground on January 26.

Kellman was banned for six matches and Prescod for five when the committee met on February 18.

A GFF release stated that Marlon Bowlin of Camptown who brought the game of the Fruta Conquerors 21st Anni-versary competition between Camptown Football Club and Western into disrepute was suspended for three games.

Camptown Football Club was reprimanded for allowing one of its players, who was evicted by way of red card from the February 14 game, to return to the game.

The bans came into effect the day the committee met. The committee handed down the penalties after reviewing referees reports.

The release said that the committee noted with dismay the escalation in indiscipline among players and clubs and indicated its intention to request the GFF to review its current penalties for offenses committed and to bring them in line with that of FIFA.

The release added that the executive of the GFF will convene a special meeting to review the disciplinary penalties which are in force especially those in relation to offenses of a violent conduct nature.
