The absence yesterday of Magistrate Jerrick Stephney due to illness forced another adjournment in the Good Hope arms cache trial.
Shaheed Khan, Haroon Gahya and Sean Belfield are jointly charged with unlawful possession of firearms and unlawful possession ammunition. They were charged at the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court in January and granted bail.
This is the second time the magistrate has been absent and on other occasions the prosecution had failed to submit statements. Yesterday, the prosecution was to have had the statements ready for the commencement of the trial. The matter is now fixed for tomorrow.
