St Vincent and the Grenadines welcomed Sri Lanka and the West Indies women cricket teams in fine style over the weekend.
On Sunday, the government of St Vincent and the Grenadines, led by Minister of Education, Youth and Sport, Hon. Mike Browne and Minister of State in the same Ministry, Hon. Clayton Burgin, joined the local Women's Cricket Federation, to officially welcome the Sri Lankans at the E.T Joshua Airport.
Following the arrival of the Sri Lankans, there was a welcoming ceremony in the VIP Lounge at which add-resses were delivered by Burgin, Carol Whilby-Maxwell, President of the West Indies Women's Cricket Federation and Minister Browne.
Mrs Munaweera, Manager of the Sri Lankan team expressed her gratitude for the warm reception that she and her team received in St Vincent and the Grenadines.
The West Indies Cricket team arrived in the state on Saturday and had their first net session Sunday.
Both teams were toasted by His Excellency sir Frederick Ballantyne, Governor General of St Vincent and the Grenadines at a reception held at his official residence last evening.
