"The cold-blooded murder of Brian Hamilton... underscores the great danger posed... by the murderous bandits holed up in South Buxton." So said the ruling People's Progressive Party in a release last week.
The release described Brian Hamilton as a "well- liked and respected young businessman and community leader" on the East Coast Demerara, where his loss would be keenly felt. Accord-ing to the party, this latest outrage is viewed as "part of a continued onslaught on order and good citizenship." The party called on the law-abiding citizens of Buxton to cooperate fully with the security forces to bring an end to the state of siege and trauma caused by the bandits. It also urged cooperation in the bringing to justice the recent perpetrators of the attempted kidnapping of the schoolgirl of Bladen Hall and other crimes, including the slaying of Ronald Ramsay.
The party extended sympathies to the family, relatives and friends of Brian Hamilton.
