A delegation from the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Industry met with the head of the Customs and Trade Administration (CTA) Lambert Marks yesterday to discuss some of the problems being experienced by the business community.

According to a press statement signed by Chamber President Edward Boyer, problems such as delays in processing entries and entries lost within the Customs Administration were discussed.

The statement said Marks accepted that the Chamber’s concerns were valid and pointed to the fact that a lack of human resources contributed significantly to the situation. Measures are being put in place to correct the situation and the CTA is aiming for a turn around time of four days for the processing of entries.

Another meeting between delegates of the chamber and Marks is planned for May 12.
