Roraima Bikers cyclists Tyrone Hamilton and Gordon Kennedy both secured bronze medals in separate international events of the West Indies versus the World Cycling Series which comes to an end this weekend.

Hamilton, a member of the West Indies team, secured a bronze medal in a unknown distance race and another in the win and out event last Sunday.

The unknown distance race was won by Trinidad’s Elisha Green, with Cuba’s Joel Marinio finishing second, while Canada’s Glen Rendell won the win and out race from Marinio and Hamilton respectively.

Kennedy, who won several medals as a category two rider, secured a bronze in an international Kerin race last Saturday. That event was won by Cuba’s Michael Pedrosa with Pavel Buran of the Czech Republic occupying the second spot.

Last Friday, Kennedy won a gold medal in a six-lap event for categories one and two cyclists, while on Saturday, he placed third to Trinidad’s Sheldon Ramjit and Colin Phillip in an elimination event and was second to Rocky Hosein in a two-lap race on Saturday also.

Also among the medals last weekend were junior riders Marlon Williams and Jorge Emerson.

Williams finished second to Trinidad’s Adam Alexander in four events for junior riders. He was second in a four-lap on Friday, a five-lap on Saturday, an elimination event and a three-lap race on Sunday.

Like Williams, Emerson was second to Alexander in a six-lap race last Friday.
