Corporal Eon Jackson presented his certificates of expertise in the field of firearms and ammunition as evidence of his competence as the preliminary inquiry into the death of Yohance Douglas continued before Acting Chief Magistrate Juliet Holder-Allen yesterday.
At the last hearing, defence counsel Bernard De Santos had requested that Jackson tender the certificates. Jackson, an expert in the field testified on the prosecution’s behalf. The prosecution also tendered exhibits yesterday.
Attorneys-at-law Jo-Ann Barlow and Candace Raphael both attached to the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) represent the prosecution while Senior Counsel, De Santos, Compton Richardson and Hukumchand represent the defence.
Police officers, Gerald Alonzo and Mahendra Baijnauth were jointly charged on March 28 with the murder of eighteen-year-old University of Guyana student Douglas.
