Proprietor of CNS Channel Six, CN Sharma, sustained a stab wound on Wednesday night during an altercation with a woman in a house in Smyth Street.
When contacted yesterday by this newspaper at his office on Robb Street, he denied being stabbed stating that he had gone to Prasad’s Hospital as a patient to be treated. Sources say he sustained a stab wound and had been bleeding profusely from it. Sharma said as a citizen he did not have to disclose to any member of the media what he was treated for.
Residents in the Smyth Street area yesterday said that he had had an altercation with the woman after which they heard him call out to someone that he had been stabbed.
A few minutes later the police arrived on the scene but the house lights were turned off and the officers left. He then came out with blood on his clothing and left in his vehicle. The incident occurred at around 8 pm.
He was rushed to the hospital clutching his chest with blood dripping from the wound.
Sharma eventually acknowledged that the incident had involved a woman but said that it was his personal life and he was not obligated to reveal anything. He feels there is a campaign to smear his reputation. The police said yesterday that no report had been made.
