TWO more witnesses testified yesterday at the Preliminary Inquiry (PI) into the charge surrounding the murder of University of Guyana (UG) student Yohance Douglas.

Acting Chief Magistrate Juliet Holder-Allen took the depositions from Detective Sergeant William Pitt, of Fountain Base and Detective Deputy Superintendent Richard Oliver, who is attached to Criminal Records Office and Juvenile Branch, also of Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Headquarters, Eve Leary.

Pitt was cross-examined by both Defence Counsel, Mr. Compton Richardson for Gerald Alonzo and Senior Counsel Bernard De Santos for Mahendra Baijnauth.

But cross-examination of Oliver by Richardson will continue on the July 22 resumption of the pre-trial proceedings.

Baijnauth and Alonzo are implicated in the fatal shooting of Douglas who was killed by Police gunfire on Sheriff Street, Georgetown, last March 1.
