BANKS wins Guinness most global sales award

BANKS DIH, the Brewery Giant, has once again won the Diageo International Award for the most Guinness Sales Worldwide.
The company was presented with the award by the Diageo Caribbean Manager, Mr. Ian Tier, at a simple ceremony at the Banks DIH Head Office, Ruimveldt, East Bank Demerara.
"This is the second year in a row that the company has won the award, and may set a Guinness record of its own if it wins the award next year," officials at Banks proudly asserted.
According to the Diageo representative, Banks DIH has done really well for Guinness, with local sales surpassing the sales of the product internationally. He said the award is an annual one that is given to the company that proves "it's got the Guinness power to sell the most Guinness."
Marketing Director of Banks, Mr. George Mc Donald, said the company focused a lot on marketing to promote and ensure sales of the beverage, noting that there was even the establishment of a number of Guinness bars locally.
In 2002, Banks DIH Limited won the DIAGEO Guinness "Best Innovation" Award. In recognition thereof, the local Brewery Company was presented with the "Diageo Guinness Venture Americas and Caribbean Partnership Award" and a memento.
On that occasion, Banks DIH Chairman, Mr. Clifford Reis received the award on behalf of his company at a prestigious ceremony held in Barcelona, Spain.
Meanwhile, the Chief Executive Officer of Banks DIH, Mr. Clifford Reis last week, noted that his company remains committed to improving the high quality of its many products. He said he is pleased with the award, adding that banks will definitely take on the challenge of making the award a 'three-peat.
Moreover, Reis said, from the laboratory to the sales department, the commitment of employees, and especially the support from the Guyanese public had a lot to do with the company winning the international award. Banks DIH, over the past few months, has launched some new products.
An elated, Mr. Reis asserted, "Some more new products will be heading our way in time for Christmas."
