The Government Information Agency (GINA) has announced that before week-end its Information Technology Department expects to launch an E-governance feature to ascertain the public’s views on development issues.
A GINA release said that through this feature persons would be able to provide feedback on developmental initiatives of the government as it relates to four sectors, Natural Resources, Foreign Relations, Social Services and Economic Affairs, which are constitutionally organized under the four Parliamentary Sectoral Committees.
The site would be updated frequently as different topical issues in the various sectors arise. This system also has provisions for a two-way flow of communication so if the person seeking an answer, clarification or is making a suggestion and registers his/her e-mail address, responses would be forthcoming in a defined period, the release said.
This initiative is aimed at establishing a reliable feedback channel through which there is a constant flow of information between GINA and the public, a significant part of the agency’s mandate, the release stated.
GINA’s website is at www.gina.gov.gy and the website counter has indicated that there are approximately 100 visitors daily.
