World Boxing Association junior welterweight champion `Vicious’ Vivian Harris recently became the proud father of a baby girl. Velisha Harris was born on Thursday August 14 to Onika Sobers and the world champion.

Velisha is the second child for hard-hitting Harris who has a five-year-old son and was born on the day that a power outage swept across the USA.

Speaking to Stabroek Sport yesterday Harris said that he was overwhelmed by the birth of his second child which he claimed would not take his mind off of boxing.

He disclosed that although the WBA has ordered super champion Kostya Tszyu to fight him to date he has received no word from the handlers of the Russian.

“If we don’t hear from Tszyu then I’ll defend my title in January on the undercard of the Asturo Gatti card. That will be televised on HBO,” Harris said. (Steve Ninvalle)
