Shares in Banks DIH Limited dominated trading on the stock exchange yesterday with over $20M worth changing hands. Despite this only two other companies recorded trades.
A total of 3,003,346 Banks shares traded at prices varying between $6.50 and $7.
Some 96,000 shares in Citizens Bank Guyana Inc. (CBI) traded at a price of $13 for a total consideration of $1,248,000.
Demerara Tobacco Company (DTC) saw 11,305 of its shares traded, at $42 for a total value of $474,810.
A total of 3,110,651 shares worth $22,377,558 exchanged hands at yesterday’s trading, according to the Trade Journal issued by the Guyana Association of Securities Companies and Intermediaries (GASCI), at whose offices trading is done every Monday at 10 am.
Shares still on offer for the next session are: 3,542,000 for Banks DIH Limited with a best offer (best price at which one is prepared to sell) of $7 per share; 592,000 for DDL at a best offer of $6.50; 99,000 of the National Bank of Industry and Commerce (NBIC) at a best price of $14; 7,000 in the Guyana Bank for Trade and Industry (GBTI) at a best offer of $25 and 5,000 of Property Holdings Inc. at $6.
Bids remaining for the next trade session are 620,000 shares of Demerara Bank Limited (DBL) at a best bid (best price one is prepared to pay) of $1.20; 100,000 shares of CBI at a best bid of $10.50; 40,000 DTC shares at a best bid of $42; 10,000 Sterling Products Limited shares at a best bid of $15 and 1,000 Guyana Stockfeeds Inc. (GSI) shares at $15.
On Thursday, the stock exchange will be officially launched on the Roof Garden of the Hand in Hand Building, Avenue of the Republic.
